Hello All - Just upgraded to OS X Yosemite. Everything is working except that when I click on the icon for Notification Center in the system bar it turns blue and then....nothing. Notifications are all turned on in System Preferences but the Notification Center will not open. Any ideas?

This should do it... Paste the following lines into Terminal one-by-one:
launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.notificationcenterui.plist
launchctl start com.apple.notificationcenterui.agent
killall SystemUIServerI had just the same problem but the Terminal command lines did the trick for me too. Thanks to both involved!

I had the same problem in Yosemite and the problem carried over to El Capitan when I upgraded. After I entered the command lines, the notification center started working again. Thanks for posting the solution.
